Locally Raised High Quality Beef

At Tucker Creek Ranch, we’ve upheld a strong dedication to ethical cattle-raising for over three decades. Nestled within the lush pastures of Youngs River, our family-owned ranch has been nurturing a healthy herd of Red Angus and Hereford cattle since 1991. We’re proud to offer locally raised beef that’s both high in quality and rich in nutrients to our community.

Our guiding principle has always been clear–healthy, stress-free cattle yield superior beef. Our cattle are reared in a serene environment where their well-being is our primary concern. We maintain a pasture-based system and use low-stress handling practices, ensuring our cattle develop in a calm and nurturing setting.

Our feeder program starts when cattle are between 6-8 months old. These young cattle are kept separately from the rest of the herd, allowing us to monitor their growth closely and supplement their diet as required. During the colder, wet months, these cattle are provided shelter in an open barn. They’re given unrestricted access to haylage and dry hay, supplemented by Craftsmin Gold Organic minerals and Sea90 sea salt. We spare no expense in providing our cattle with high-quality supplements free from any ingredients sourced from China.

As spring approaches, our feeder cattle return to the pasture. We continue supplementing their diet until the arrival of the “spring flush”–a rapid period of grass growth. During this time, our cattle are rotated through new paddocks several times a week. This mimics natural grazing patterns and promotes soil health.

By July, our feeder cattle enter the finishing phase. While they continue grazing on pasture, we also supplement their diet with a grain ration specifically blended for finishing cattle on pasture.

The debate between grass-finished and grain-finished beef is one we’ve solved with our unique ‘grain on grass’ method. This method combines the benefits of both, guaranteeing a final product that is both tasteful and sustainable. Over the years, we’ve continued to evolve our methods and learn from our experiences, but our commitment to the health and well-being of our cattle and stewardship of the land has never wavered. Join us on this journey and taste the difference our dedication makes.
